Jon Lynn Christensen

Jon Lynn Christensen ( born February 20, 1963 in St. Paul, Howard County, Nebraska) is an American politician. Between 1995 and 1999 he represented the second electoral district of the state of Nebraska in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jon Christensen graduated from St. Paul High School and then to 1985 the Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. Subsequently, he studied until 1989 at South Texas College of Law in Houston Jura. After his studies, Christensen was a successful manager in the business world. In 1992, he was vice president of the company COMREP, Inc. and then a director of the Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company. He was also involved in the founding of the company Aquila Group Inc..

Politically, Christensen was a member of the Republican Party. As their candidate, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994, where he replaced the Democrats Peter Hoagland on January 3, 1995. After a re-election in 1996, he was able to implement his mandate in Congress until January 3, 1999. In the 1998 election he had not applied for a further term. Instead, he stood as a candidate in the primaries of his party unsuccessfully for the nomination for Governor of Nebraska.

Jon Christensen is married to his second wife, the former Miss America Tara Dawn Holland since 1998. The couple has one child. His first marriage with Meredith Stewart Smith was divorced in 1996.
