Jon Michelet

Jon Michelet (* July 14, 1944 in Moss) is a Norwegian writer and journalist.

Michelet is a qualified helmsman and studied journalism at the University of Oslo. He worked as a sailor, dock workers and a journalist with the Nordlys and as a publisher boss. He hosted a series of entertainment programs on Norwegian television. From 1997 to 2002 he was editor of the left-wing daily class Kampen. Michelet has a career as a regional political leaders behind it and is a member of the radical leftist party Rødt.

In the 1970s, Michelet was secretly monitor for suspected communist underground activities of the police. His phone calls were intercepted and read his private letters. He was a leading member of the Norwegian Communist party, the AKP.

Michelet's first crime novel was published in 1975. Since he also wrote numerous children's books, plays and nonfiction. Together with Dag Solstad he published five books about World Cup Soccer Championships. Some of his books filmed it, inter alia, as TV detective series.
