Jon Olsen

Jon Olsen ( born April 25, 1969 in Jonesboro, Arkansas) is a former American swimmer and four -time Olympic champion.

He entered 1992 at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona and won with the U.S. swimming seasons two gold and a bronze medal. In the individual competition over 100m freestyle he classified himself in fourth place. Four years later at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, he led the swim team as captain and was again able to celebrate with the seasons two Olympic victories than 100 m and 200 m freestyle. In the individual competition over 100m freestyle this time he came to ninth.

Olsen also took several times participated in the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. In 1989 he won in Tokyo two gold and one silver medal. 1993 in Kobe, he even brought four gold medals.

During his career, Olsen was coached by former South African freestyle swimmer Jonty Skinner. He studied at the University of Alabama, where he swam on the high school championships. Today he lives with his family in Florida, where he teaches Keys Swim Club swimming in Florida.
