Jon Solly

Jon Solly (actually Jonathan Solly, born June 28, 1963) is a former British long-distance runner.

In 1986 he became British vice-champion in the 10 - km road race and British Champion in the 10,000 m. About the same distance he won for England starting at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

The following year he was second in the Gasparilla Distance Classic. At the World Athletics Championships 1987 in Rome, he took the 10,000 m the 15th Place. In 1990, he finished fourth at the Great North Run and second at the Twin Cities Marathon. At the California International Marathon in 1993 and the Turin Marathon 1996 he also came in second place.
