Jonathan Stead

Jonathan " Jon " Stead ( born April 7, 1983 in Huddersfield, England ) is an English footballer. The striker currently plays for the English second division club Huddersfield Town.

Life

Stead began his professional career in 2002 at Huddersfield Town. DC in his first three league games, he scored four goals so that big clubs were aware of him. In February 2004 he moved for 1.25 million pounds to Blackburn Rovers. His debut for Blackburn he was in the first division with FC Middlesbrough, in which he also scored the winning goal to make it 1-0.

However, at the initial successes, he could not build later, and after Blackburn had committed another striker with Craig Bellamy, Stead moved on 13 June 2005 for £ 1.8 million to Sunderland. But even in Sunderland remained from the gates; total he scored in about a year and 35 league games only two goals, and he was loaned out in October 2006 to the second division Derby County, for which he scored three goals in 17 games.

On 10 January 2007 it was announced that Stead would change hands for £ 750,000 from Sunderland to Sheffield United, so he again played in the FA Premier League.

24 August 2010 Stead moved to Bristol City and signed a three-year contract.

After three years in Bristol and the relegation to the third division in the Football League Championship 2012/13 Stead signed in the summer of 2013 a contract with the second division club Huddersfield Town.
