Jon Wozencroft

Jon Wozencroft ( born June 1, 1958 in Epsom, England ) is a British graphic designer, author and teacher. He is the founder of independent multimedia publishing company and record label Touch.

Life and work

Wozencroft studied at the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication ). He worked as a writer for various publishing houses such as Reader 's Digest as well, along with numerous artists and musicians, as a graphic designer.

In 1982 he founded the multimedia publishing Touch. Through touch close cooperation with the graphic designer Neville Brody was born. Published in 1988 Wozencroft his colleagues the much acclaimed Designermonografie The Graphic Language of Neville Brody. In 1990, along with Brody Wozencroft the design project FUSE, the Foundry itself as primarily the development of experimental graphic design and typography as well as the distribution of modern fonts devoted (until 2000). In FUSE worked with designers such as David Carson, Matthew Carter, Tibor Kalman, Vaughan Oliver, Erik Spiekermann or Cornel Windlin.

From 1992 Wozencroft taught as a lecturer at London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where he introduced a new undergraduate course in graphic design. In 1994 he became tutor and assistive Instructors in the area Interactive Multimedia Design at the Royal College of Art is currently Wozencroft Senior Tutor at the Communication Art and Design Department of the Royal College of Art

Published together with Geir Jenssen ( Biosphere ) Wozencroft 2010 MP3/FLAC-Album Substrata 2.1 on their own label.
