Jonas Nordquist

Jonas Nordquist ( born April 26, 1982 in Leksand ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since 2009 Brynäs IF in the Swedish Elitserien under contract.

Career

Jonas Nordquist began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Leksand IF, for the first team, he made his debut in the Elitserien in the season 1999/2000. He remained in the point - and impunity in three games. In the following season, the attacker got his team into the second-class HockeyAllsvenskan, in which he in 32 games scored eleven points scorer in the 2001/ 02 season. He then moved for a year to their league rivals Rögle BK before the links Sagittarius 2003-2006 stood for Luleå HF in the Elitserien on the ice.

In summer 2006, Nordquist was appointed by the Chicago Blackhawks, who had chosen him already in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the second round than a total of 49 players, to North America. In the 2006/07 season, the Swede was the first time in the National Hockey League. He had two assists in three games. He spent the rest of the season, however, in Chicago's farm team in the American Hockey League, the Norfolk Admirals. For the season 2007/ 08, the 2006 world champion returned to Sweden, where he received a contract with Frölunda HC. For this he completed two seasons before Nordquist has been committed for the season 2009/10 from Premier League rivals Brynäs IF.

Internationally

For Sweden Nordquist took part in the U18 World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002. In addition, he was in the squad of Sweden to the 2006 World Cup.
