Jonathan Carlsson

Jonathan Carlsson (* August 5, 1988 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since 2010 Brynäs IF in the Elitserien under contract.

Career

Jonathan Carlsson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Almtuna in which he was active until 2004. Then the defender moved to the youth department of Brynäs IF, for its first team he made his debut in the Elitserien was in season 2006/ 07, where he scored one goal in six games. In the following season the right shooter was parallel for Brynäs IF, for which he ran aground in 26 times in the Elitserien, and IF Björklöven from the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan on the ice, for which he in 16 games five scorer points, including two goals scored. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the sixth round as a total of 162 players from the Chicago Blackhawks, but initially remained in Sweden. In his first full year at Brynäs Carlsson was in the 2008 /09 season in a total of 59 inserts a template.

For the 2009/10 season Carlsson was ordered by the Chicago Blackhawks to North America, where he was active in the course of the season for their farm team Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and Toledo Walleye in the ECHL. For the following season the Swede returned to Brynäs IF back in the Elitserien.

Internationally

For Sweden Carlsson took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2008, where he took second place with his team.
