Jonathan Carver

Jonathan Carver ( born April 13, 1710 in Weymouth, Massachusetts; † January 31, 1780 ) was an American- British explorers.

Carver appeared in 1755 in the British colonial army and participated since 1757 in the French and Indian War. In 1766 he undertook a journey to the upper Mississippi and from there to Lake Superior.

In 1768 he went to England to share his discoveries. 1778 his travels were published under the title Travels through the interior parts of North - America in the years 1766-68 in London.
