Jonathan Coe

Jonathan Coe ( born August 19, 1961 in Birmingham) is an English writer.

Life

His schooling completed Coe in his hometown at the King Edward 's School and then studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. Currently (2010) he teaches at the University of Warwick.

His often humorous and satirical novels are influenced primarily characterized by preoccupation with social issues. So his novel is alone with Shirley as a scathing satire on the conservative social and economic policies of Margaret Thatcher era.

His autobiographical novel, first coined rites tells the story of two young people from different social classes in the 70s.
