Jonathan Greening
Jonathan Greening ( born January 2, 1979 in Scarborough ) is an English footballer. Since July 2011, the midfielder is the English second division Nottingham Forest under contract.
Club career
York City, Manchester United and Middlesbrough FC
At the age of 17 years, Greening was added to the senior squad York City. The Yorkies the young midfielder played in the Football League Second Division, where he made after a short time attracted attention. On March 26, 1998, then secured the English top club Manchester United, the player's services. For ManU had the offensive player hard to enforce against the big competition. In the final of the UEFA Champions League 1998/99 against FC Bayern Munich Greening sat on the bench and celebrated from there the 2-1 win. West Bromwich Albion
At West Bromwich Albion, he found its old strength, became a regular force and non-controversial performers. At the end of the Premier League 2005 /06 he went down with his new club, but remained faithful to him. In the summer of 2007, the offensive player extended his contract for another three years and shortly thereafter became the new captain of the team. At the end of the season Bromwich secured the first place in the Football League Championship 2007/ 08 and thus promotion to the Premier League. In addition to the team mate Paul Robinson and Kevin Phillips Greening was elected into the PFA Team of the Year the second division. At the end of the Premier League 2008 /09, which brought straight back down into the second division, Greening refused to renew his contract runs until the summer of 2010, and instead asked for a transfer release.
Fulham
After " WBA " had rejected a purchase offer from Fulham, both clubs came in August 2009 on a loan deal for the entire 2009/10 season match. Beginning of July 2010, signed Greening a limited two-year contract.
Nottingham Forest
After he had come to the Premier League 2010/11 to only ten league operations, it changes on 18 July 2011 on Nottingham Forest and signed a three-year contract. During the first half of the 2012/13 season FC Barnsley committed to no longer taken into account in Forest Greening on loan.
National
Greening came to 17 missions in the English U- 21 team. He scored three goals. He was nominated for the U -21 Football Championship in Switzerland in 2002, but resigned with the team after the first round of. Greening came only in the last match of Group A are used and has been replaced in the 31st minute against Shola Ameobi. During the season 2002 /03 he was nominated for the A national team, but came to no use.
