Jonathan Hatch Hubbard

Jonathan Hatch Hubbard ( born May 7, 1768 in Tolland, Connecticut; † 20 September 1849 in Windsor, Vermont ) was an American politician. Between 1809 and 1811 he represented the second electoral district of the state of Vermont in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

At the age of eleven, Jonathan Hubbard moved with his parents to Claremont, New Hampshire. There he enjoyed a private education, and then studied law. After his made ​​in 1790 admitted to the bar he began in Windsor ( Vermont) to work in his new profession.

Hubbard was a member of the Federalist Party. In the congressional elections of 1808 he was in the second district of Vermont in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of James Elliot on March 4, 1809. Since he has not been confirmed in the elections of 1810, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1811.

After retiring from Congress Hubbard was 1813-1815 Justice of the Supreme Court of Vermont. He then worked as a lawyer. He died in September 1849 in Windsor.
