Jonathan Marray

Jonathan Marray ( born March 10, 1981 in Liverpool) is a British tennis player from England.

Career

Marray won on the Challenger tour so far 18 titles in doubles. However, greater success on the ATP level does not reach him yet, but he was several times in quarter-finals with different partners. At Grand Slam tournaments he could surprise win together with Frederik Nielsen the tournament in doubles in 2012 at Wimbledon. Launched as a wild card team beat in the tournament four set pairings, including the semi-finals set at position two, Bob and Mike Bryan. In the final they defeated Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau in just five sentences. Marray was the first Briton for 35 years, who was in the semifinals of the tournament and the first since 1936, who won the doubles competition of the tournament. Because of the success he advanced in the world rankings prior to position 21. Marray also became the first Briton, who failed to qualify for the doubles competition of the season finals, where he reached the semifinals with Frederik Nielsen.
