Jonathan Paiement

Jonathan Paiement ( born March 7, 1985 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Innsbruck in the Austrian National League since August 2011.

Career

Jonathan Paiement began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL, where he was active until 2006 from 2001 for the Sherbrooke Castors de and after their relocation for its successor team Lewiston MAINEiacs. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the eighth round as the 247th overall player of the New York Rangers, for whom he never played, however. Instead spent the defender from 2006 to 2010 for four years in the American Hockey League with the Rockford IceHogs, Hershey Bears and Albany River Rats, as well as in the ECHL with the Texas Wildcatters and Florida Everblades.

For the season 2010/11 Paiement received a contract with the Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. For the following season the Canadians was committed by the Austrian second division club HC Innsbruck, with whom he 2011/12 won the championship of the Austrian National League in the season.
