Jonathan Sigalet

Jonathan Sigalet ( born February 12, 1986 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 when HC Slovan Bratislava in the Kontinental Hockey League contract. His brother Jordan was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Jonathan Sigalet began his career as a hockey player with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, for which he was active in the Canadian Junior Football League British Columbia Hockey League in the season 2002/ 03. This season, he was named best defender of the league as well as selected team and their first All-Star team in their All- Rookie. He then attended two years, the Bowling Green State University, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the fourth round as a total of 100 players from the Boston Bruins. For their farm team Providence Bruins played the links Sagittarius from 2005 to 2008 in the American Hockey League. In addition, he was in the 2006/07 season his debut for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. In his only NHL insert it remained no points and was awarded four penalty minutes.

On 27 May 2008 Sigalet was transferred in exchange for Matt Marquardt to the Columbus Blue Jackets. He then spent two years playing for their AHL farm team Syracuse Crunch and in the 2010/11 season for Columbus' new farm team Springfield Falcons. For the 2011/12 season he was bound by the HC Lev Poprad from the Kontinental Hockey League. For the following season, he moved within the league for HC Slovan Bratislava.

Internationally

For Canada Sigalet took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2004. During the tournament he prepared in seven games before two goals.
