Jonava Janina Miščiukaitė School of Art

The Janina - Miščiukaitė Art School Jonava ( Lithuanian Jonavos Janinos Miščiukaitės meno mokykla ) is a state special school in the city Jonava, in the district of Kaunas ( Lithuania ). Musically and artistically gifted children and young people are taught there. The school building located in the center of the city.

History

In 1965, the School of Music was founded Jonava. It was housed in the Cultural Club of Möbelkombinat Jonava.

1976 got the school to new premises in the former second middle school Jonava.

Opened in 1982 to the Department of Fine Arts (painting).

Since 1990 the school is located in the city center, in the former Pioneer House.

In 1992, the Department of Choreography and 1993 Department of Theatre were opened.

In 1994, the school became an art school. Up to this time there were 1,121 graduates.

May 2009, the name of Janina Miščiukaitė ( 1948-2008 ) was granted. Miščiukaitė - Brazaitienė was born in Jonava singer and musician.
