Features

The moths reach a forewing length 9.1 to 11.0 mm in males and from 9.2 to 10.0 mm in females. Head, thorax and abdomen shining dark green. The antennae of the males are almost black and dull and consist of about 35 segments. The probe shaft is thickened at the tip and blunt. The front upper wing surface is densely scaly and shimmering dark green or dark bluish green. The wings are dark brown fringe. The rear upper wing surface is black brown and has a translucent base. The underwings are dark gray. The females are about the same size as the males. Their antennae have a short combing and the front wing tops are bluish.

In the male the uncus is long and slender. The basal part, which occupies about one-third of the total length is only weakly sclerotized. The two parts of Tegumens are as long as the Uncus. The Vinculum is slim and has no strongly sclerotized sac. The Valven have no appendages, the pulvinus is reduced very slender and often. The aedeagus is strong and has just Cornuti.

In females, the antrum is strongly sclerotized, the translucent Präbursa is only weakly sclerotized, but well developed.

Similar Species

The males of Jordanita anatolica resemble J. horni, both species are sympatric in Turkey and in northern Iran before. In Armenia and Turkey Jordanita comes before graeca sympatric with J. horni. The above types can be distinguished genitalmorphologisch. The females of J. and J. anatolica graeca have unkempt sensor.

Dissemination

Jordanita horni is based in Turkey, Armenia, Nakhichevan and in the north of Iran.

Biology

The moths fly from late June to late July. The biology of the species is unknown.
