Features

The moths reach a forewing length 13.7 to 14.7 mm in males and 9.0 to 9.5 mm in females. Head, thorax and legs have a strong metallic luster. The abdomen is dark green and semi-metallic shimmers. The sensors consist of about 38 segments. The forewings are dark green and semi-metallic shimmers. The forewing underside and the fringe scales are gray. The hind wings top and bottom are like Frans shed gray.

In the male the uncus is heavily sclerotized and 3/4 as long as the Tegumen. The Valven saccule spring strongly sclerotized sting, these are about as long as the uncus. Ventral spines at the top are concave. The aedeagus is twice as long as the uncus. On the bubble is strongly sclerotized cornutus with a sharp tip. The 8th Abdominalsternit does not reach the posterior margin of the segment.

In females, the ostium is wide and funnel-shaped, the edges do not protrude. The antrum is also sclerotized wide and funnel-shaped. The distal portion of the duct is S-shaped and bursae narrow. The corpus bursae is ovoid.

Similar Species

J. vartianae comes before sympatric with Jordanita globulariae, Jordanita notata, Jordanita subsolana and Jordanita hispanica. The similar species all have a similar habit and pointed probe. The distinction is genitalmorphologisch possible.

Dissemination

Jordanita vartianae is endemic in southern and central Spain.
