Jorge Enrique Adoum

Jorge Enrique Adoum ( born June 29, 1926 in Ambato, † July 3, 2009 in Quito ) was an Ecuadorian writer, politician, essayist and diplomat. His most famous work is the 1976 novel published Entre Marx y una mujer desnuda, which was filmed in 1996 by Camilo Luzuriaga. His oeuvre, in which he always treated social issues, was nominated for the Premio Cervantes.

Biography

Jorge Enrique Adoum was born in 1926 in Ambato. His father was Jorge Elías Adoum, also known as Mago Jefa, intellectual, naturopath and esoteric Lebanese origin, who was like his son worked as a writer. Adoum interested very early in literature. After receiving lessons take place in an elementary school with a private tutor, he attended the Colegio San Gabriel in Quito. Political commitment
