Jorge Maqueda

Jorge Maqueda Peno (born 6 February 1988) is a Spanish handball player.

The 1.95 -meter and 102 -pound right- back player is since the 2012/13 season at HBC Nantes under contract; previously he played from 2007 to 2009 with FC Barcelona and 2009-2012 at BM Aragón. With Barcelona he played in the EHF Champions League ( 2005/ 06, 2006/ 07), with Aragon in the EHF Cup (2009/ 10) and Nantes in the EHF European Cup (2012 /13).

With the Spanish national team Jorge Maqueda Peno in 2011 was third in the World Championship. In 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games, finishing in seventh place. At the World Cup in 2013 in his own country he was world champion. The next year he won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 2014.

Until January 27, 2014, he played 81 international matches in which he threw 196 goals.
