Jorge Sanguinetti

Jorge Sanguinetti ( born November 14, 1934 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan politician.

He is a member of the Partido Colorado and was, during the time of the presidential Julio María Sanguinetti his cousin, March 1, 1985 to September 21, 1989 Minister of Transport and the Ministry of Construction in Uruguay. He resigned from his post to accompany as a candidate for the office of Vice - President of the presidential candidate Jorge Batlles. This company, however, was not successful and Luis Alberto Lacalle eventually won the elections in November 1989. Subsequently Sanguinetti had hold any significant positions. In the local elections in 2000, he undertook the ultimately unsuccessful due to the re-election of Carlos Moreira attempt to replace these in the office of the Municipal Intendente of Colonia. From December 2000 to May 2004, he was then chaired the autonomous state institution Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcohol y Portland ( ANCAP ).
