Jornada (PDA)
Jornada was a PDA and Handheld PC model from Hewlett -Packard, which was discontinued in 2003. After the purchase of Compaq HP did not produce PDA own more than one year from the Ipaq models were about also provided with the HP logo after the takeover by Compaq.

Pocket PC models
The operating system of the Jornada PDAs was Windows CE or Pocket PC 2002, for further development of the operating system (Windows Mobile) was offered by HP no longer update.
Jornada 520
The Jornada 520 series was HP's attempt to produce a cheap Pocket PC, and based on the 540 series. Technical Data included 16 MB of RAM, a Type II Compact Flash drive, 256 color screen and a 133 MHz SH3 CPU. The operating system is a variant of Windows CE 3.0 under the name was "Pocket PC 2000 " used. For the 520 was an optional "flip cover " as available for the 540 models, but as the data connection could only be used a serial cable (eg for synchronization). The Jornada 520 series corresponded to the same format as the 540, but was painted silver.
Jornada 540
The Jornada 540 was a Pocket PC with touch screen and 32MB of RAM. Equipped with a SHx SH3 processor and a modified HP version of Windows CE, he was distinguished by a hinged cover as screen protector, could be where the input pin will hold when not in use. Quick access buttons and a scroll wheel side round off the special equipment details. Jornada 565/568
The last model was the HP Jornada 565/568 with 206 MHz StrongARM processor. It was produced until about 2003. It is a device with color, illuminated touch screen ( 240x320 pixels). The 565 has 32 MB RAM, 64 MB of the 568. The series had a built-in microphone, IrDA port and a slot for CompactFlash cards of type 1, so the devices do not support IBM Micro Drives.
The power supply was performed by an easy replaceable lithium -ion battery at the back of the device, the working hours of 10 hours guaranteed. As an accessory is a removable battery with twice the capacity was offered. The base station had it a recess which is filled by a cover in the normal rechargeable battery.
Handheld PC models
Handheld PCs have advantages over normal PDAs the advantage to own a keyboard. The relevant models of Jornada series, these are a high quality, notebook - like keyboard. Jornada 820
The Jornada 820 was the first of the Jornada Handheld PC series. He had an Intel StrongARM CPU with 190 MHz, 16 MB RAM, 16 MB ROM, a Compact Flash slot, a PC card slot, a 56K modem and a 640 x 480 pixel 8- bit touchscreen. There was also a model version without modem, this was called Jornada 820e.
Jornada 680
The Jornada 680 was made in 1998 on the market. The PDA has a 133 MHz Hitachi SH3 processor with 16 MB RAM and 16 MB ROM. It has a CompactFlash slot, a PC Card slot, a 56K modem, an internal speaker, a built-in microphone for recording notes via voice and an infrared interface. Moreover, even a 640 x 240 16 -bit touch screen and a serial interface. The Jornada 680 is based on Windows CE 2.11 Handheld PC Pro 3.0. Compared to the competition, drew from this model and its derivatives models with the available space according to good keyboard that looked like a notebook keyboard in miniature. The Jornada 680 had - apparently for reasons of space - the peculiarity that when you insert a PC Card Compact Flash slot was everted by a spring mechanism down, so that the bottom of the unit was no longer flat. As variants, there was the Jornada 690, which compared to the Jornada 680 was equipped with twice as much RAM (32 MB instead of 16 MB ) and the Jornada 680e and 690e, both of which did not have a built-in modem.
Jornada 720
The Jornada 720 was brought to market in 2000. It is equipped with an Intel StrongARM CPU with 206 MHz and 32 MB RAM, has slots for CompactFlash, PC Card, and smart cards, a 56K modem and a 640 x 240 16 -bit touchscreen. To listen to music stands apart from the internal speakers and a headphone output. The operating system is based on Windows CE 3.0, Pocket PC 2000.
In addition to the Jornada 720, there was the stripped- Jornada 710, which was delivered without internal modem and without docking station. The final produced by HP handheld PC was the Jornada 728, which compared to the Jornada 720 has a better display, better battery life and a doubled up to 64MB of RAM.
