Jos Luhukay (2012 )
Jos Luhukay ( born June 13, 1963 in Venlo, Limburg) is a former Dutch football player and current football coach of Hertha BSC.
Origin
Jos Luhukays father was born in the Moluccas, which now belong to Indonesia; he fled to the Netherlands, because the situation on the islands was life threatening and later learned to know a Dutch woman Luhukays mother. Both parents died early.
Career as a player
Jos Luhukay always played in the midfielder position. He began his career at the age of 15 in his hometown at the Dutch club VVV -Venlo. After four years he moved in 1982 to SV Venray, where he remained until 1984. He then played two years for VOS Venlo, until he returned in 1986 to VVV Venlo. In 1989 he moved to June 1991 SVV Schiedam. During his last Dutch club, the RKC Waalwijk, he played from July 1991 to June 1993. Luhukay 1989 was part of the Kleurrijk Elftal, the team that lost his life to a large extent the Surinam Airways Flight 764. He himself escaped this disaster only because he was playing at the time of the game Termines with his club VVV -Venlo in the relegation.
In the summer of 1993, he joined after 15 years and 139 missions in the Eredivisie (27 goals) and 48 second division games ( 12 goals) in the Netherlands to Germany. There he had two inserts for the SV 19 Straelen (1993-1995 and 1996-1998) and the KFC Uerdingen 05 ( 1995-1996). With Uerdingen Luhukay also denied two games in the Bundesliga. His biggest success was the rise in the Oberliga Nordrhein with the SV Straelen 1996. After 20 years, he finished in the summer of 1998 there his playing career.
Career as a coach
A month after finishing his playing career, he became the SV Straelen as head coach. Two years later he moved to KFC Uerdingen with which he finished in 2002 in the Regionalliga Nord fifth place in the DFB Cup with wins against Energie Cottbus and Werder Bremen caused a sensation. The Off in the competition came for Uerdinger only against 1 FC Cologne. In 2002 Luhukay in the Bundesliga, where he ( July 2004-June 2005 ) consistently was Kotrainer at the 1 FC Cologne at the side of Funkel (until October 2003), Marcel Koller ( November 2003-June 2004 ) and Huub Stevens. In November 2003 Luhukay sat in the Bundesliga match against Hannover 96 even as a head coach on the bench, since Friedhelm glitter had been previously dismissed - the game lost the FC with 1:2. From summer 2005 until his resignation on 11 August 2006 was Luhukay head coach at football second division side SC Paderborn 07
On 2 January 2007 he was obliged Borussia Mönchengladbach as another Kotrainer of Jupp Heynckes.
After Heynckes had resigned on 31 January 2007, Luhukay took over the post of the head coach. His contract with the " foal " ran initially until 30 June 2007, at the end of March 2007, he has been extended until mid-2009. But Mönchengladbach had to say goodbye for the second time from the 1st Bundesliga in the summer of 2007. In the 2007 /08 season Luhukay led the club tradition for immediate resurgence. With a 3-0 home win against Wehen the team secured on 7 May 2008 with two games left in the season to return to the top flight football. On October 5, 2008 Luhukay was fired as coach of Monchengladbach after Borussia had lost six of their first seven games of the season 2008 /09.
On 14 April 2009 he took up his new post as head coach at FC Augsburg, with whom he landed at the end of the season 2009/10 # 3 on the second league. The relegation matches against the third-bottom of the 1st Bundesliga 1 FC Nuremberg, Augsburg would be lost and missing out on promotion. 8 May 2011 Jos Luhukay made with the FC Augsburg then by a 2-1 victory over FSV Frankfurt with space 2 direct promotion to the 1st Bundesliga clear. On May 5, 2012 following the last game of the season, Luhukay released his run until 30 June 2013 contract to with immediate effect.
The first Bundesliga season, the club's history is completed in 14th place. Already on 33 Gameday the team reached the league.
For the 2012/13 season changed Luhukay as the new head coach at Hertha BSC. He signed a two-year contract until 30 June 2014 and took over the team of Otto Rehhagel. There, he became the second division champions in 2013 for the third time of promotion to the Bundesliga.

From July to December 2007, adopted at the 54th Luhukay DFB Football Trainer training course at the German Sport University Cologne to acquire the football teacher's license part.
