José Gomes Ferreira
José Gomes Ferreira ( born June 9, 1900 in Porto, † February 8, 1985 ) was a Portuguese writer and poet.
Life
When he was four years old, the family moved to Lisbon. He attended secondary schools Liceu Camões and Liceu Gil Vicente in Lisbon. In the latter he learned Leonardo Coimbra know and had his first contact with the poetry. Although Ferreira was much younger, he wrote at that time, together with Fernando Pessoa a sonnet for the magazine Ressurreição ( Resurrection), whose editor, he was later. After completing his military service, he joined the Batalão Academico Republicano, a voluntary association of students who wanted to defend the Republic against monarchists 1.
