José José

José José ( born February 17, 1948 in Azcapotzalcos, today Mexico City as José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz ) is a former Mexican pop singer who sold a two-digit million number of plates ( the LA Times prized 1996 sales to 30 million ) and six times for the Grammy nominated, but his life with alcohol and drug problems noticed that eventually hurt even his voice.

Life

Hailing from a family of musicians, José had his first singing engagements as a teenager. In 1966 he played bass on the bossa nova and jazz band " Los PEG".
