José Riço Direitinho

José Rico Direitinho (born 1965 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese writer.

Life

Direitinho studied Agricultural Science and Agricultural Sociology. For his literary production, he has received numerous awards, including the 1994 Grande Prémio de Novela e Romance of the Portuguese Writers' Association APE Translations into other languages, let him become a key member of the new generation of writers of Portugal. His work is mostly concerned with the rural population of Portugal and its mysticism. Many of his books have been translated into German.
