José Saramago Prize
The Prémio José Saramago is one every two years since 1999 conferred significant Portuguese Literature Prize. It is endowed with 25,000 euros. The name refers to the Nobel Prize winner José Saramago ( 1922-2010 ).
Was established the award by the Foundation of the Portuguese book clubs " Círculo de Leitores ". With the support of the Portuguese Ministry of Culture of the price every two years to a young writer or a young author is given (up to 35 years).
The jury of 2009 under the direction of Guilhermina Gomes belonged to Pilar del Rio, Ana Paula Tavares, Nélida Piñon and Vasco Graça Moura.
