Josef Anton Riedl

Josef Anton Riedl (pseudonym: Józef man, born June 11, 1929 in Munich, as the birth year is given also 1927) is a German composer of contemporary music.

After studying at the Munich Academy of Music and courses with Hermann Scherchen in Gravesano be devoted Riedl, influenced by Carl Orff and Edgar Varèse, as a composer, especially the percussion.

In 1950 he founded with the German section of the Jeunesse Musicales. In 1952 he pioneered on the use of concrete and electronic sounds in music. From 1959 until its dissolution in 1966 Riedl was head of the Siemens Studio for Electronic music. The 1960 series of events initiated by Riedl » New Music Munich / sound actions " was last conducted in 2009.

As a teacher Riedl influenced the work known today as students Michael Lentz, whose text mother dying (2001) he created music. Lentz plays today as a saxophonist in the ensemble Riedl.

Even film music contributed Riedl at, for example on the second home - Chronicle of Youth ( 1992).
