Josef Eichkorn
Seppo calibration Korn ( 2011)
Josef " Seppo " Eichkorn ( born September 16, 1956 in Radolfzell on Lake Constance ) is a German football coach and scout.
Playing career
Eichkorn played active football at SV Gallman Weil, Borussia Köln-Kalk, BC Efferen and SV Hürth- Kendenich 1931 eV.
Coaching career
In 1983, he began his coaching career when he became player-coach at SV Hürth- Kendenich. Until 1985, he held this post.
As of November 12, 1987 Eichkorn worked for FC St. Pauli, where he was first an assistant coach Helmut Schulte. In the season 1987/88 he managed with FC St. Pauli promotion to the Bundesliga. After twice reaching the class Erhaltes the season 1990/91 did not go so well, and Schulte was released in January 1991. Eichkorn then worked for his successor Horst Wohlers as an assistant coach. After the descent could not prevent and FC St. Pauli was not playing to the targeted promotion, Wohlers was released in March 1992, and Eichkorn took over as coach until the end of the season. For the 1992/93 season took Michael Lorkowski as coach, and was re- calibration grain assistant coach. Only after Lorkowskis dismissal in September 1992 calibration grain was finally head coach of FC St. Pauli. In the summer 1994, he was dismissed after a dispute with manager Jürgen Wähling.
Thereupon calibration grain assistant coach Ewald Lienen at MSV Duisburg. After Lienen's dismissal in November 1994, he was assistant coach of Hans Bongartz, with which he could not avoid relegation from the Bundesliga. In the season 1995 /96 MSV Duisburg managed the direct promotion back to the Premier League, but Bongartz was released shortly before the season ends after a series of eight games without a win in a row and Funkel became the new coach of the MSV Duisburg. After Funkels dismissal in March 2000 calibration grain was interim coach, but could not prevent relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga. For the new season, first was Wolfgang Frank new head coach, but after his release in October 2000, took over as coach grain calibration.
After the missed resurgence calibration grain left the MSV Duisburg and was assistant coach Felix Magath at VfB Stuttgart. After his move to Bayern Munich in 2004, he followed him there and won with both league and cup wins his first title in his coaching career. As Magath for season 2007/ 08 coach of VfL Wolfsburg was Eichkorn worked there again as his assistant coach. 2009 Oak grain was then with the German champions VfL Wolfsburg.
For the season 2009/ 10 reference grain moved to the side of Felix Magath as assistant coach for FC Schalke 04 After Magath and assistant coach Bernd Hollerbach had acknowledged their service on 16 March 2011, Eichkorn directed the training of FC Schalke 04, together with the other assistant coaches on an interim basis and sat 20 March 2011 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen together with goalkeeper coach Bernd Dreher on the bench. Also under new head coach Ralf Rangnick remained calibration grain assistant coach. Following the resignation Rangnick on 22 September 2011, he was again employed as interim coach before Huub Stevens was introduced as the new head coach on September 27. He was then on his own request, assistant coach of the first team department, because he had repeatedly expressed that he does not stand as head coach available.
Activity as a scout
After the signing of Peter Hermann as the new assistant coach on the side of Jens Keller for 2013/14 season Eichkorn moved to FC Schalke 04 in the position of Chief Scouts. His contract dated to 2016.
