Josef Georg Hörl

Josef Georg Hoerl ( born August 22, in 1722 in Vienna, † December 9, 1806 ) was an Austrian jurist and mayor of Vienna.

Hoerl was 1773-1804 Mayor of Vienna and discussed from 1778 Emperor Joseph II in the reorganization of the administration. In Hörl's tenure, the establishment of the General Hospital (1784 ), the theater fell into the Jewish Town ( 1788) and the Theater an der Wien ( 1798-1801 ).

In 1870 (9th district) was named after him in the Hörlgasse Vienna Alsergrund.
