The Josef- Hofmiller Gymnasium Freising (short: JoHo ) is a scientific- technological and linguistic grammar school ( with neusprachlicher orientation) in Freising. This term has replaced the old designation since 2003 " mathematics and science ." This former secondary school exists as an independent school since 1960 and is the largest of the three Freising schools. It is visited by more than 1100 students in 30 classes and more than 100 college level courses.

Patron

Named after the essayist and critic Joseph Hofmiller (1872-1933), who was a high school teacher until his death, and as a writer, critic and editor until today attracts attention in the world of literature. He was also a champion of the equality of the previous upper secondary schools with the humanistic schools. These achievements and his many years of teaching in Freising as a teacher of French and English were the reason why the school was named after him from the beginning.
