Josef Kalt

Joseph Kalt ( born September 20, 1920) is a former Swiss rower who won the 1948 Olympic silver medal in the coxless pairs.

Josef cold started as his brother Hans for the lake club train and was trained by Karl Schmid. In the Olympic Rowing Regatta 1948 on the Thames at Henley three boats competed against each other. Hans and Josef cold won both their leading and the semi-finals before the Australian twin. In the final they met the Italian Felice Fanetti and Bruno Boni and the British John Wilson and Ran Laurie. The British won the race by nearly three seconds ahead of the Swiss, seven seconds behind the Italians received the bronze medal.

Hans and Josef cold worked in his father's print shop in Bern, today's cold -Bucher Druck AG, headquartered in train.
