Josef Peterhans

Joseph Thomas Peter Hans ( born December 4, 1882 in Achern, † 1960 in Berlin) was a German actor.

Life

Joseph Thomas Peter Hans began his acting career at the age of twenty. The physically brawny Baden with the powerful punch of head and high forehead played for many years with little resonance in the province and in Berlin; there, after his military service 1914-1917, he received, in 1917, his first film role. Initially still concerned with leading roles - as Peter Hans was 1918 in two films Partner of the American screen Diva Fern Andra - he had to settle for a little later with smaller tasks.

In the sound film shrank Josef Peter Hans ' roles on a batch format. He was a forester in Victoria and a marshal in the Hundred Days, a pastor in William Tell and a deputy Pour le Mérite in, a police officer in Mrs. Luna and each a general in the Prussian materials to Frederick the Great Frederick the Great and The Great King. It also saw him twice as an Indian ( Indian in revenge and in the double feature of The Tiger Eschnapur and The Indian Tomb ). The stage hardly needed the actor in later years, most recently we saw Josef Peter Hans 1928-1930 in Zurich. To supplement his livelihood, Josef Peter Hans often worked since the early 1930s as a voice actor.

Even before his 60th birthday, Peter Hans, who had been for years no permanent engagement from the theater, withdrew from the film. He spent his life in Berlin -Steglitz.
