Josef Rose

Joseph Rose ( born March 16, 1943 in Trautenau ) is a German handball coach and former handball player.

After the expulsion ( " Odsun " ) from the Sudetenland Joseph Rose moved in 1946 with his family on the island of Usedom. Here he began the sport of handball, first at school, then at unit Ahlbeck / Heringsdorf. In 1953 he was second with this student team at the Pionierspartakiade in Berlin. Kurt Assmann gave him a trial with ASK Vorwärts Berlin, followed by the convening of the National People's Army as an athlete. In 1969 he followed the ASK forward after his move to Frankfurt / Oder and played for ASK Frankfurt / Oder, where he played until 1977.

The 1.76 meter tall Josef Rose stood 96 times in the squad of the national handball team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). He played at the Olympics in 1972 and was at the World Cup ( World Cup ) in 1970 and the 1974 World Cup runners-up respectively.

From 2005 to 2008 he coached the A- juniors of the ESV Frankfurt / Oder.
