Josef Sommer

Josef Sommer ( born June 26, 1934 in Greifswald, Germany; actually Maximilian Josef Sommer ) is an American actor of German descent.

After completing his studies at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1957 and his service in the U.S. Army, was first summer at the American Shakespeare Festival on the stage. 1970 Summer debuted on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre in the role of Brabantio in Othello.

1971 was followed by a first supporting role in Don Siegel film Dirty Harry. Summer, still active in the theater, starred in numerous film productions mostly supporting roles. In addition to theater and film Josef Sommer also works in television productions. In 1987, Summer in The Betty Ford Story, a biography with Gena Rowlands in the title role, the U.S. president Gerald Ford dar. Moreover, took a summer guest roles in television series such as Without a Trace and Law & Order
