Josef Svoboda
Josef Svoboda ( born May 10, 1920 in Čáslav, † April 8, 2002 in Prague) was a Czech stage designer.
For carpenters trained Svoboda moved to the Prague industrial and art school. He was co-founder of the theater in Bedrich Smetana Museum. From 1948 he was a stage designer and bld on facilities manager at the Prague National Theatre.
Since 1956, he also worked in the GDR ( Dresden) and soon after in Europe and America. In London he paid at the Covent Garden Opera Richard Wagner from the ring.
With composer Václav Kašlík among other things, he developed a style antiillusionitsischen and related special lighting effects and movies in his designs a.
Svoboda also worked with the Laterna magika.
