Joseph Kwahu Duah Addai, Jr. ( May 3, 1983 in Houston, Texas ) is an American former American football player in the position of running backs. He played for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League ( NFL) and won them the Super Bowl XLI.

Career

Addai played college football for Louisiana State University and was selected in the first round of the 2006 NFL Drafts as 30 players from the Indianapolis Colts. In his first season with the Colts Addai was used together with Dominic Rhodes as a running back. Against the Philadelphia Eagles scored Addai in a game four touchdowns, and turned so that both a club record and a record for rookies one. With 1081 Rushing Yards Addai led all rookies this season, even though Rhodes was the nominal starter. The Colts qualified this year for the play- offs and reached there, after victories against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots, Super Bowl XLI. The Colts won the Super Bowl against the Chicago Bears, led by a strong running game by Addai and Rhodes. Addai fell on by his qualities as a receiver by setting a new record for running backs in a Super Bowl with ten pass catches.

In the 2007 season, the Colts parted by Dominic Rhodes and Addai became the starter at the running back position. In his second season, he latched on to over 1000 yards and has established itself as one of the best running backs in the league. In 2008, he was unable to repeat his performance from the previous year due to injury. After the Colts in the NFL Draft in 2009 chose it as the successor to Donald Brown in the first round to Addai was able to assert against the rookie, and remained a regular player.

6 May 2012 Google Addai signed a one year contract with the New England Patriots.
