Joseph Arthur

Joseph Arthur ( born September 28, 1971 in Akron, Ohio) is an American singer and guitarist. In addition, he also plays harmonica and bass. He is dedicated to the singer-songwriter genre of style alt-country and published under his own label Lonely Astronaut Records.

Career

Joseph Arthur's career began in the early '90s, when he recorded some demos in his apartment. In 1997 he was discovered by Peter Gabriel and contracted. He published the EP Vacancy, which was nominated for a Grammy.

The recorded in 2000 second album Come To Where I'm From, he managed to breakthrough. After the live album Gipsy Tea Room followed in May 2002, his third album, Redemption 's Son In 2005 came his fourth album Our Shadows Will Remain on the market.

Since 2006 he is a member of his (former) tour band The Lonely Astronauts.

In February 2010, he teamed up with Ben Harper and Dhani Harrison, the band Fistful of Mercy. The band released October 5, 2010 their debut album As I Call You Down on the label HOT Records.
