Joseph Bova

Joseph Bova ( born May 25, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio, † March 12, 2006 in Englewood, New Jersey ) was an American actor.

Bova began his career as a child actor in Cleveland and later went to Northwestern University. After his graduation he became a local program director at NBC in Cleveland and was the uncle Joe Bova a children's show. His breakthrough came in 1959, celebrated on Broadway as Prince Dauntless the Drab in " Once Upon a Mattress ". He also played " The Comedy of Errors ," " King Richard III ," "Love 's Labour's Lost," " Troilus and Cressida " and " Twelfth Night." He received a 1970 Tony nomination.

From 1980 to 1989 he played Bert Barry in the musical 42nd Street.

Bova was married to actress Lee Lawson. He died of emphysema.
