Joseph DePietro

Nicholas Joseph "Joe" Di Pietro ( born June 10, 1914 in Paterson, New Jersey, † March 19, 1999 in Fair Lawn, New Jersey) was an American weightlifter.

Joe, as he was called, was descended from Italian immigrants and grew up in Paterson, New Jersey, on. He was already 20 years old when he began weightlifting and was when he first started in 1942 at the U.S. Championships, nor even to any club. He brought with excellent physical conditions for this sport. He was small, lightweight but very strong. The sport of weightlifting with his weight class division was just right for him therefore. Joe had such short arms that he had the barbell when beidarmigen tearing, where it is indeed usually a very broad grasp exactly as the beidarmigen put, to bring them over your head. His strength was the beidarmige Press, in which he set world records.

Joe Di Pietro won the championship in the following years: 1942 to 257.5 kg in 1943 to 265 kg in 1945 to 280 kg in 1946 to 290 kg in 1947 to 280 kg in 1948 to 307.5 kg in 1949 to 282.5 kg, 1950 with 287.5 kg and 1951, with 290 kg.
