Joseph ibn Abitur
Josef ( ibn Jitzchaq ) ibn Abitur (c. 900 in Mérida, † around 970 in Damascus ) was a rabbi, Jewish scholar and one of the first Jewish poets in Spain.
High School came from a distinguished Spanish family from Mérida. His great-great grandfather was a leading rabbi and urban politician
Joseph ibn Abitur moved from Spain to the Orient, where he was a major poet and mediator between Eastern and Western traditions.
He died around 970 in Damascus.
