Joseph Malula

Joseph -Albert Cardinal Maloula ( born December 12, 1917 in Leopoldville, Democratic Republic of the Congo, † June 14 1989 in Leuven ) was Archbishop of Kinshasa.

Life

Joseph -Albert Maloula received by philosophical and theological studies in 1946, the sacrament of Holy Orders by the Apostolic Vicar of Leopoldville, Georges Six. He then worked as a pastor in different churches and teaches at the junior seminary.

1959 he was appointed by Pope John XXIII. Titular Bishop of Attanasus and auxiliary bishop in the Apostolic Vicariate of Léopoldville, later archdiocese of Kinshasa, the line Joseph Albert Maloula was transferred with his appointment as Archbishop on July 7, 1964. He received his episcopal consecration the Apostolic Vicar Scalais Félix on September 20, 1959. Joseph Albert Maloula died on June 14, 1989 Leuven, Belgium. He was buried in the Cathedral of Notre Dame du Congo in Kinshasa.
