Joseph Nunzio Latino

Joseph Nunzio Latino ( born October 21, 1937 in New Orleans) is an American clergyman and Bishop Emeritus of Jackson.

Life

The Apostolic Administrator of New Orleans, John Patrick Cody, consecrated him on 25 May 1963 priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He was incardinated into the clergy of the Diocese of Houma - Thibodaux in 1977.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 3 January 2003 as Bishop of Jackson. The Archbishop of Mobile, Oscar Hugh Lipscomb, donated to him on March 7 of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were John Clement Favalora, Archbishop of Miami, and William Russell Houck, retired bishop of Jackson. As a motto he chose Ut unum sint.

On December 12, 2013 Pope Francis took his age-related withdrawal.
