Joseph Octave Delepierre

Octave Delepierre ( born April 4, 1804 in Bruges, † August 22 1879 in London) was a Belgian diplomat and historian.

Delepierre studied in Ghent Law, practiced in Brussels for some time as a lawyer and later entered the diplomatic career. He was appointed in 1849 to the Secretary of Legation and Belgian Consul General in London. His numerous writings relate partly on history and ancient literature, partly on national bibliography and archeology.
