Josephine McKim

Josephine McKim ( born January 4, 1910 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, † December 10, 1992 in Woodstock, New York) was an American swimmer and actress.

In the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movie ( Tarzan and His Mate ) of 1934, she stood in for Maureen O'Sullivan in the swimming scenes.

Career as a swimmer

McKim won the bronze medal in 400 meter freestyle at the Summer Olympic Games in 1928. She also swam in the first preliminary round of the 4x100 -meter freestyle relay, but was replaced by Eleanor Garatti in the final. The Americans won the final.

In the Summer Olympics 1932, she won the gold medal in the 4x200 -meter freestyle relay. In the 100 -meter freestyle, she finished fourth.
