Josh Bailey

Joshua " Josh " Bailey ( born October 2, 1989 in Bowmanville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2008 with the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Josh Bailey began his career as a hockey player in the Ontario Hockey League, where he was from 2005 to 2008, first for the Windsor Spitfires active for the Owen Sound Attack and from 2006. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the first round as a whole ninth player from the New York Islanders, where he subsequently was awarded a three year contract.

In his rookie year, the Center scored in the 2008/ 09 season in 68 games 25 scorer points, including seven goals. The following season he succeeded, however, to improve his stats significantly. In 73 missions Bailey scored 16 goals and 35 points scorer for the Islanders. After an injury early in the season 2010/11 he was first to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, sent to the farm team of the Islanders in the American Hockey League, but returned after eleven games back in the NHL squad back.

From November 2012, Bailey played due to the lockout in the NHL at the Bietigheim Steelers in the second hockey league, scoring eleven points in six games.
