Josh Freeman ( born January 13, 1988 in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American professional American football player at the position of quarterback. He plays for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League ( NFL).

Career

College

The choice of colleges Freeman was encouraged to play the position of tight ends. However, Freeman's goal was a place as a quarterback in the NFL. He chose originally for the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, then by the former head coach of the Kansas State University did, however, convince to play for Kansas State College Football. In three years at the Kansas City Wildcats, he threw 680 passes for 8,078 yards and 44 touchdowns with 34 interceptions. He managed an average quarterback rating of 124.73.

NFL

2009 Josh Freeman was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft as the 17th player of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccanners gave the rookie a five year contract. In his first season, he completed ten games and threw passes for 1,855 yards. He succeeded in attaining ten touchdown passes, but he also threw 18 interceptions and only reached a quarterback rating of 59.8. In his second season, he managed to break through. Freeman was starting quarterback and threw 25 touchdowns with only six interceptions. Tampa Bay narrowly missed the play-offs with a 10:6 balance.

In the 2013 season, Freeman and the Buccaneers started very badly. After another poor performance in week three, the Buccaneers offered the quarterback other teams. Since no team found, he was released in early October by the Buccaneers.

Just three days after his release, Freeman was hired by the Minnesota Vikings. There he will struggle with Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel for the starting place. Ponder showed poor performance before and could not win a single game.
