Josh Hill (racing driver)

Joshua " Josh " Hill ( born January 9, 1991, Surrey, England ) is a British former racing driver. He started in 2013 in the European Formula 3 Championship.

Career

At the age of 13 years, Hill started his motorsport career in karting. In 2008 he drove in GT racing. He finished third in the British Ginetta GT Junior Championship and won the Winter Championship Ginetta Junior. 2009 Hill moved to Formula racing and started for Jamun racing in the British Formula Ford With two podium placings, he concluded his debut season on top of the eleventh, while his team-mate James Cole won the championship. 2010 Hill decided five races in the British Formula Ford for themselves and improved to fifth overall. With Scott Pye again won his team-mate the overall standings. In addition, Hill took part in two races in the Benelux Formula Ford and stood again on the podium.

The end of 2010 took Hill for Manor Competition at the Winter Series of the British Formula Renault part. With a podium placement he finished the season in ninth place. In early 2011 drove Hill in Toyota Racing Series, the highest single-seater series in New Zealand, for ETEC Motorsport. With a fourth place as best result he finished 13th in the driver standings. Then he started for Manor Competition in the British Formula Renault. With two fourth places for the best results he was seventh overall and best Manor pilot. In addition, Hill took part in four events in the Northern European Formula Renault for KTR. A fourth-place finish was his best placement. After the season, he contested the Formula Renault Winter Series of the British for Fortec Motorsport. Hill scored in all six races, the pole position and chose two for themselves. In the overall classification, he finished fifth. 2012 Hill began the season again for ETEC Motorsport in the Toyota Racing Series. Hill started with a win at the season opener in the championship. In the further course of the season followed with two second and third places more podium finishes. In the overall standings, he reached the fourth place as the best pilot of his racing team. Then you should attend Hill for Fortec Motorsport in the British Formula Renault. Since the series was not held, Hill started in the North European Formula Renault for Fortec Motorsport. Hill won five races and scored the third overall. In addition, Hill took for Fortec Motorsport to four races of the Formula Renault 2.0 Euro Cups in part.

2013 Hill received at Fortec a cockpit for the European Formula 3 Championship. At Hockenheim, he scored a podium placement with a second place. Hill rose half of the season in tenth place overall in the series from lying. In addition, he thus ended his career as a racing driver.

Personal

Josh Hill comes from a racing family. His father and his grandfather Damon Hill Graham Hill won both the Formula 1 World Championship. Josh Hill used, like his father and his grandfather, a helmet design that is inspired by the colors of the London Rowing Club, where met his grandparents.
