Josh Unice

Josh Unice (* June 24, 1989 in Toledo, Ohio ) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the University of Western Ontario playing in the CIS since 2010.

Career

Unice was selected at the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the third round to 86th place by the Chicago Blackhawks. For the 2007 /08 season he played with the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League and brought this to the finals of the Memorial Cup in 2008. The following year he won the J. Ross Robertson Cup the Spitfires and Memorial Cup. In the 2009/10 season, he ran for both the Windsor Spitfires as well as for the University of Western Ontario to the ice after he had begun his studies there. For the Western Mustangs Unice was also in the following season between the posts.

Internationally

Unice won in 2006 with the U.S. selection, the silver medal at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge, the following year he took as a member of his home country in the contest the U18 World Youth Championship and won with the USA again the silver medal. In addition, the Unice was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament and elected to the All-Star World Championship. Again, a year later, the goalkeeper took part now with the U-20 national team of the United States at the World Cup.
