Works ( Published )

  • Petites pièces de clavecin en suites (Brussels, 1736-1738 )
  • Premier livre (Paris, 1738)
  • Second livre (Paris, 1740-1744 )
  • Troisième livre (Brussels, 1749 ) devoted to the regent Charles Alexander of Lorraine.

The musical style Boutmys is a synthesis of the various European influences. He integrated French elements, corresponding to the models of François Couperin, Jacques Duphly or Jean -Philippe Rameau, and used taking into account their extensive French decoration technique. On the other hand, his works have stylistic features of Handel's works. His works followed the older model of the classical suite. In his third " Livre " he approached the gallant style of Domenico Scarlatti; overall characteristics, as found similar to his colleague Joseph -Hector Fiocco Brussels.
